The Global Guitar Tutor is the teaching practice of professional guitarist Jonathon James, a musician with over twenty years of teaching and playing experience in the music industry. Based in South East England, Jonathon specializes in providing one-to-one electric and acoustic guitar tutoring, tailored to the requirements of individual students and broadcast live to your home wherever you are in the world. With the majority of online music education focusing around pre-recorded videos or software packages that often bring frustration, Jonathon provides real, one-to-one music lessons, using a multi-camera production system to enable you to learn with even greater clarity than you would find in a teaching studio. The focus here is on high quality tutoring, accelerated learning, understanding, and value, with innovative lessons that are designed specifically for you.

Lessons
One of the ideas behind the Global Guitar Tutor was to use technology in a way that makes it faster and easier for musicians to learn via video link than they can in a face to face environment. To achieve this a multi camera production system is used to present high definition, close up shots of the guitar, enabling students to clearly see and understand the information being taught. The variety of different camera angles essentially provides students with six pairs of eyes rather than one, and allows for more detailed views of the guitar than can be achieved in person. This creates quick recognition, greater levels of understanding, and a more enjoyable, time efficient learning experience.
The lessons are presented with broadcast quality sound and HD video, with examples of in lesson screenshots shown in the images inset.
Graphics and tablet technology are also employed so teaching material can be displayed, created and edited live on your screen, with all practice notes and media emailed to students at the end of each session. Jonathon is able to customise practice material as required, answering all your questions and ensuring that you have the thorough understanding necessary to move your playing forward.
Music Qualifications & Grade Exams
Music Qualifications & Grade Exams
Jonathon’s students have achieved a 100% success rate in music exams over the past 20 years. These qualifications range from guitar grades, all the way through to GCSE, A-Level and degree qualifications. Jonathon has worked for BIMM in Brighton through the DSA (Disabled Students Association) and has successfully tutored students with chronic learning disabilities through the undergraduate course. Should you require help with your academic studies on your music degree, this can also be provided.
